Media shown women’s empowerment is really male gaze acceptance

It’s sad trauma-embracing.

#1. Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter milked her concert choreography for attention. That’s another day in Hollywood. That’s the celebrity version of female empowerment. I give myself the power to define my brand and sexuality. She’s so empowered to perform as such. I already know, Madonna did it.

But then it crosses a line.

It’s been two days seen Sabrina Carpenter announced her new album. Man’s Best Friend. Sizzles with icky irony. Doesn’t it?

You’re left wondering if it aids general women’s empowerment.

  • Are the choices of the everyday woman increased?
  • Are ordinary women freer to make any choice, have a voice, and achieve their goals?

No. Not really.

Because the more things change.

The more we internalize the male gaze.

Here’s how cherry-picked media women’s empowerment plays out. You can’t wound me if I give myself the ‘fatherless behavior’ title before it’s said in comments. Yeah. I’ll come onstage with buckets of tomatoes before bystanders throw them my way.
